Preparing a UAE business for sale: a 90-day working plan

A 90-day plan is a preparation framework, not a promise about how quickly a business will sell.

The practical answer

Seller output: a sale preparation calendar with defined responsibilities and a reviewable evidence pack.

First month: organise the evidence

Gather financial records, operating schedules, key agreements and an asset list. Identify missing information and assign someone to resolve it. Keep the business operating normally while creating a consistent picture of performance and the scope you intend to offer.

Second month: clarify the transaction

Decide the interest available, the asking-price basis and the support you can provide. Prepare an anonymous summary and a controlled disclosure process. Review financial definitions with appropriate advisers so that the listing and private evidence pack use the same basis.

Third month: prepare for buyer discussions

Build a response log and a timetable for meetings, information requests and operating visits. Identify who can answer finance, staffing and premises questions. Revisit the plan when buyer feedback identifies a genuine information gap, rather than rewriting the sale story for every enquiry.

Your working checklist

  1. Assign preparation owners
  2. Resolve missing records
  3. Agree sale perimeter
  4. Prepare disclosure stages
  5. Plan time for buyer questions

Use the guide with a live opportunity

For a buyer, record the listing reference and the questions that could change your decision. For an owner, use the checklist to prepare a consistent response and identify which information is suitable for public presentation. Share identifying or sensitive material only through an agreed confidential process.
