The practical answer
Seller output: a practical, permission-aware handover pack with named responsibilities.
Organise by the work being transferred
Document opening routines, customer delivery, purchasing, invoicing and collection responsibilities. Include an index of systems, equipment records and supplier contacts to be transferred under the transaction. Do not put passwords or unnecessary personal data in a general document pack.
Separate access from authority
Identify which accounts and permissions require an authorised transfer or update. Agree who completes each step and when the buyer may use the access. Work with relevant providers and advisers where needed so that operational convenience does not replace the correct transfer process.
Use the pack during the transition
Walk through the routines with the buyer and responsible team members, recording questions and completed training. Set a defined route for follow-up support. A useful handover pack is a working tool that is updated as responsibilities move, not simply a folder delivered on the final day.
Your working checklist
- Map operating routines
- Index systems and records
- Assign transfer actions
- Keep credentials out of general files
- Record training and follow-up
Use the guide with a live opportunity
For a buyer, record the listing reference and the questions that could change your decision. For an owner, use the checklist to prepare a consistent response and identify which information is suitable for public presentation. Share identifying or sensitive material only through an agreed confidential process.
